Call us romantics, but we’re holding a flame for this fresh, double-sided fireplace from Vancouver-based interior design firm Knight Varga. A vertical orientation gives the custom-sized Urban Fireplaces piece an opportunity to be seen from the dining table on one side or enjoyed from the lounge.

“A horizontal linear fireplace would be too low to the ground to be appreciated when dining and wouldn’t leave enough space for symmetrical doors on either side,” explains co-principal Trish Knight.
